Acceptance of Fashion
Have you ever thought how fashion can bring communities together? Well I believe fashion brings every individual to an understanding point and acceptance.
Fashion can come in all types of ways, no matter what religion or race. Communities from all over the world come together and express their fashion as one big family. One of the biggest events would have to be New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Week, also known as the “Big 4”. Over a hundred thousands attend to at least one of these events, learning and accepting what another has to offer.
Many people get into fashion multiple ways. Some are introduced by trends, social media or even commercials. I on the other hand was introduced to fashion by my close friend. She and I went over to my house one day after school and she asked me a question that changed my perspective on fashion. She said
“You have a lot of nice clothes! Why don't you wear them to school?”
For some reason I couldn't respond. It was such a careless question to me at that time. She later picked out an outfit for me and taught me about fashion, makeup, and etc. Ever since then, I started to see accept fashion in my daily life.
I started to realize what I can mix and match or what colors compliment another. I also started to accept and understand multiple fashion points, whether if it is high fashion, daily fashion or even cultural fashion. It all catches my eye, one way or another.
Accepting fashion has been one of the best things I have ever done. The way I dress to school before just relied on whatever I had in my closet. Now it relies on many things, it relies on fashion trends, my mood, what I am doing after school and weather.
Religion also plays a role in my fashion. In my religion, women are expected to cover up. The only body parts which they are able to show would be their face and hands. Since I have expectations, I make sure to fulfill them, but with a bit of glam.
I believe fashion can give an individual hope, passion, patience and joy. Having to share the same passion with a big community can make one feel very accepted. It fills me up with joy to be able to share my passion with my fellow friends and it also gives me patience to be able to wait for the next trends.
